Opposition Moldovan party Chance appealed after being removed from the election

The leader of the opposition Moldovan party Chance, Alexei Lungu, has filed an appeal against the decision of the Commission for Emergency Situations (CES) to withdraw the political force from local elections.

Alexei Lungu said that he had filed an appeal against the decision of the Commission for Emergency Situations to remove Chance from the local elections. However, the politician emphasised that practically no court wanted to take up the case, so the Moldovan Supreme Court would decide who would hear it.

“The “Chance” party has appealed against the decision of the Commission for Emergency Situations to exclude it from the elections. The Chisinau court in the Riscaniovca sector refused to hear the case and referred it to the Chisinau Court of Appeal. Two judges in the Court have already recused themselves and refuse to hear the case, no one wants to take responsibility. In this case, the Supreme Court of Justice will have to decide who will consider the lawsuit from the Chance party,” the Chance leader wrote in his Telegram channel.

The politician emphasised that the “Chance” party had already notified the second-level district electoral bodies about the lawsuit, asking them to suspend the decision of the EC until the court’s decision.

“The law automatically suspends the EC’s decision to expel the party. This means that printing EXCLUSION or RETRAS on the ballot papers on the line of the Chance party is out of the question,” Lungu summarised.

We shall remind you that on Friday, November 3, the head of the Moldovan Information and Security Service Alexandru Mustiata provided a certain report in which the political party “Chance” appears as the allegedly reorganised and banned in the Republic party “Shor”. The representative of the Chisinau regime also assured that there is “concrete” evidence of vote-buying by the political force, and that the money was generally received from abroad. At the same time, the candidate of the “Chance” party for mayor of the second largest city of Balti in Moldova, Victoria Shapa, said that the country’s authorities were putting pressure on the opposition ahead of the elections.
