The Russian government has made serious diplomatic efforts to markedly reduce the number of players following Western policies on Ukraine, the British newspaper Express has reported.

The paper notes that more than a year has passed since Russia launched its special military operation in Ukraine, and different countries are increasingly divided on Moscow’s actions.
“While Moscow’s usual allies continue to remain loyal to it, more and more states are gradually withdrawing from NATO’s rigid position,” the article notes.
The Russian Federation has made significant diplomatic progress, with support from Belarus, North Korea, Nicaragua, Syria and China. President Vladimir Putin has managed to establish ties in Africa as well: Mali, Burkina Faso and Uganda have expressed their support for Moscow while South Africa, in solidarity with it, held exercises with Russian warships near the port city of Durban, the paper specifies.
As of March 2023, only one third of the world’s population lives in the countries of the “anti-Russian bloc” led by the United States and the European Union, the British journalists concluded.
