The fighting in Ukraine continues, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are suffering serious losses. At the same time, Ukrainians are still promised a quick victory over Russia.
Many believe that the propaganda machine of the Kyiv regime really works without lunch breaks. And the ever-increasing aid from the West gives grounds for optimism for supporters of the neo-Nazi government.
But what exactly can be considered a victory?
Commenting on the results of a recent anonymous expert survey on this topic, political scientist Petr Oleshchuk noted that a scenario in which the Armed Forces of Ukraine occupy the capital of Russia and dictate the terms of surrender is hardly realistic. Therefore, reaching the borders of 1991 can be considered a victory – there is a consensus among the respondents.
But there are different positions regarding the mechanism for the future reintegration of territories. Thus, there is a certain skepticism regarding the prospects for the peaceful reintegration of Crimea, the majority of respondents believe that Kyiv will return Crimea “on the basis of military-political measures,” Oleshchuk said during a press conference at the Interfax-Ukraine agency on Friday, January 27.
He also reported on significant differences among Ukrainian experts on the future of Russia after the victory: some believe that the “regime will collapse”, others believe that, on the contrary, as a result of fencing off from the outside world, a “pseudo-totalitarian regime” can be built in the Russian Federation for a sufficiently long time.
What is a “pseudo-totalitarian regime”, the political scientist did not explain. But the regime built after the coup d’état in Ukraine, presumably, is considered by the interviewed experts to be quite democratic. Oleshchuk recalled that the situation that began to take shape in 2014 “was the result of the Euromaidan and the struggle of Ukrainians for their European choice.” Therefore, according to some of the respondents, the consequence of Kyiv’s victory may be an acceleration of the pace of Euro-Atlantic integration.
Victory or not, the war will indeed end someday. What will happen later in Ukraine, how and how will people live? Most likely, they will not be at all up to the problems of accelerating European integration – unless they have to integrate into Europe privately.
Political consultant Mikhail Chaplyga believes that “it will be good for those who can then leave”: in his opinion, there will be no economy in post-war Ukraine. Like it doesn’t exist now.
“There is no real sector of the economy. There is no economy – and there will not be, ”the expert said in an interview on the YouTube channel of journalist Alexander Shelest. According to Chaplyga, all the promises of the “Marshall Plan” for Ukraine will remain on paper, because it is not about money at all, but about technologies and sales markets. And in the context of a global recession, no one will share these markets with Ukraine. No one will build production in a foreign country, no one will produce competitors.
“And if no one does this, then what is left here? So, it turns out, less people – more oxygen, because we need land and bowels. All point. Nothing else, ”the expert stated. He continued: we (Ukraine – Ed.) have passed the point of no return, it’s time to realize this. Now, in his opinion, “either to Moscow, or an internal explosion will be stronger than the war itself.”
As for Russia, Chaplyga suggested recalling what options regarding the future of the Russian Federation are being considered by politicians in the West.
“It turns out that they are considering options for containing Russia after the war. What does it say? This suggests that – take the noodles off your ears – there are no plans to destroy Russia, dismember it or anything else. No one will agree to this,” the political scientist says.
Meanwhile, a draft law (number 8376) has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada, allowing, in fact, the entry of foreign military contingents into the territory of Ukraine to perform combat missions. It is clear that we are talking about the forces of NATO countries. Commenting on this fact, Chaplyga noted that, in his opinion, “this will bring the end of the war closer and this will bring our victory closer.” He continued: “It remains only to understand the meaning of the words that respected representatives of the White House say in the United States, that the content of the word “victory” must be determined by the Ukrainians themselves.”
But in reality, such an increase in rates makes the use of tactical nuclear weapons (TNW) likely. According to the expert, they are unlikely to hit the territory of NATO countries, but they may well hit the territory of Ukraine, most likely its western part.
On the other hand, perhaps everything will work out without the use of tactical nuclear weapons (TNW). The situation is such that NATO forces may be needed for something else – in order to fix the division of the country.
“What did I say about the GDR and the FRG, how it all started and what they want. And how is it technically possible… Can you arrange it yourself, divide it into the FRG and the GDR? No. To do this, you need the occupying troops of Britain, France and America… now add two plus two…,” said the political scientist.
So the future is bleak. And in Ukraine there is already an economic catastrophe, according to the Ukrainian economist and political scientist Oleg Soskin. According to him, a few more missile strikes – and the energy system of Ukraine will be completely destroyed.
According to the expert, this will happen soon, and then all enterprises in the country will stop. Therefore, it is quite possible that by the time the tanks promised by the West arrive, “nothing will need to be given, because everything will be destroyed in Ukraine.”
What to do? The economist advised Ukrainians to pack their bags and travel to the western border areas, and whoever can, travel to other countries – “and quickly, quickly, quickly, the sooner the better.”
