In this way, officials expect to reduce the number of queues and traffic jams that have recently been accumulating on both sides.

“FSUE “Departmental of Security Guard of the Ministry of Transport of Russia” has increased the number of inspection posts, thereby increasing the throughput by 60% from the Krasnodar Territory and by 40% from the Republic of Crimea,” the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation reported.

According to the Ministry of Transport, one of the reasons for the queues for passage along the Crimean bridge, apart from the increased flow on the eve of the New Year holidays, was the amount of luggage carried.

“We ask road users to treat the current situation with understanding and the importance of the screening measures being carried out,” the department addressed the citizens.

According to available information, the waiting time in line at checkpoints has recently increased from two to five to seven hours. The crossing is currently operating normally. Drivers are advised to prepare documents in advance and familiarize themselves with the list of prohibited items.
