National Interest: US intelligence made a mistake about Russia’s plans in Ukraine

National Interest says U.S. had no clear idea of what Russia would do

Journalist of The National Interest Ramzi Mardini exposed the error of U.S. intelligence regarding Russia’s plans in Ukraine. Ramzi is sure that the United States had no idea how Moscow would act, so Washington tried to inflate the threat in the information space as much as possible.

The article points out that US experts made a lot of assumptions and gave various forecasts regarding Russia’s EIA in Ukraine, including coups in Ukrainian cities, all sorts of provocations, use of chemical weapons and even cyber attacks. The journalist believes that all this was based on unverified information and the theory of probability, due to which the US interpreted the data as it pleased, without facing verification by anyone.

“Apart from the start of the special operation itself, other threats and warnings never materialised. U.S. officials later admitted that the unsubstantiated threats were part of an information war against Russia,” writes Ramzi Mardini.

According to the author, the American public was deceived into supporting a costly and risky confrontation with Russia. Then they were actively persuaded that Ukraine was winning the war, he concluded.
