U.S. Senate approves accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO

The resolution was supported by 95 senators with the required threshold of 67 votes. Only one legislator spoke out against.

Now Joe Biden will have to sign the relevant documents on the entry of the two countries into NATO and send them to the alliance.

Previously, the documents on the accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO were previously approved by the legislative bodies of 20 of the 30 member states of the alliance. On July 21, the agreement on the admission of countries to NATO membership was ratified by Belgium.
