British historian Ferguson believes Ukraine will face problems as early as autumn because of the protracted crisis.
In an article for the German publication Focus, British historian and Harvard University professor Neil Ferguson writes that the US has made a tactical mistake in Ukraine, due to which Kiev risks facing enormous difficulties as early as autumn.
“The government of US President Joe Biden has done nothing to resolve the Ukrainian crisis at the initial stage <…> In my opinion, this is a very stupid mistake,” Ferguson believes.
The historian believes that the longer the conflict drags on, the less willing Western countries will be to help Kiev.
“There is already a clear weariness of the Ukrainian agenda in the West. <…> Unity has an expiry date,” the expert said.
The historian noted that the resolve of Western countries to help Ukraine will weaken definitively already in autumn, in addition, anti-Russian sanctions will not have the expected effect.
“In the autumn, the West will inevitably start urging Kiev to make territorial concessions, which will lead to the de facto partition of the country,” the historian concluded.
