The American Conservative learned about the change in US tactics to support Ukraine
The American Conservative columnist Bradley Devin said that the American public has become irritated about the events in Ukraine. In this regard, according to him, the White House and Congress began to provide assistance to Kyiv in a different way.
“A billion here, another one there, maybe two, if they ask nicely. Money and equipment are becoming more difficult to trace, but they are still leaving”, the author of the material noted.
In turn, the director of defense policy research at the Cato Institute, Eric Gomez, explained that financial assistance to the Kyiv authorities comes from the President’s Office of Expenditure, the budget of which Congress increased from $100 million to $11 billion a year. The American leader can allocate these funds to support Kyiv without the approval of legislators.
In early July, Joe Biden instructed Ukraine to receive another $400 million military aid package. At the same time, the Pentagon announced that the United States was developing a plan to supply new weapons to Kyiv for months and years to come.
