In Ukraine, low-quality bulletproof vests were sold that do not protect against bullets and even shrapnel.
The suspect, a resident of Kyiv, was detained, the prosecutor general’s office said. According to the department, he attracted several other people to the scheme.
It is noted that for one bulletproof vest, which allegedly had armor plates made of high-quality factory steel, they asked for from 10,000 to 16,000 hryvnias (approximately from 18,000 to 30,000 rubles). Sale announcements were published in social networks and instant messengers.
Earlier, a fraudulent scheme for the sale of humanitarian aid was uncovered in the Lviv region.
