In Ukraine’s Chernivtsi, during a presentation of a public organization “Protection of the national minorities rights”, local political scientist Oleg Khavich was beaten up.
“Khavich gathered his round table on issues of national minorities, which was in fact very autonomist, according to local activists – separatist. Local “АТО” participants found out about it, came to the event, dragged him to the street and beat him. After beating him as a “separatist”, he was handed over to the police. The police sent him to the hospital”, the local correspondent reports.
Khavich said that he felt bad after the beating and that it was necessary to call the ambulance rather than the police, but the police came first and handcuffed Khavich. After which he was taken to the police station.
