A rally against incumbent Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky continues in Kiev’s Independence Square
It is reported that about 700 people have gathered in the centre of the capital, with 50 police vans and numerous officers mobilized to the site.
The protesters are holding flags of the nationalist parties Svoboda and National Corp. Also present are people carrying flags of former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s European Solidarity party. The nationalists started chanting the traditional “Zelyu geti!”
The speakers accuse the country’s leadership of “lying to the Ukrainian people” and have already called Zelensky and the head of the Ukrainian president’s office, Andriy Yermak, “traitors in power.”
