Washington is concerned about the agreement between Russia and India on the purchase of S-400 – Blinken

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in an interview with the Times of India said that Washington is concerned about India’s agreement with Russia on the purchase of S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems, RIA Novosti reports.

“We have our own laws. We are enforcing our laws, but we have shared with India our concerns about this. But I’m not going to run ahead. We will see how events will develop in the coming months”, said the Secretary of State.

The contract for the supply of five regimental sets of Russian air defense systems to India was signed in 2018. Earlier, the Indian ambassador to Russia, Datla Bala Venkatesh Varma, confirmed that the first batch of S-400 air defense systems would arrive by the end of this year.

The S-400 Triumph is a Russian long-range anti-aircraft missile system (SAM). In terms of characteristics, the used S-400 missiles demonstrate more than two-fold efficiency compared to foreign counterparts. The computers of the Triumph air defense missile system are well thought out and can track many targets at the same time, regardless of the altitudes and distances they will be from the launchers.
