Putin ready to discuss Crimea with Zelensky within the framework of cross-border cooperation

Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to discuss Crimea with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky in the context of cross-border cooperation between the regions of the two countries, said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian President.

“Our Ukrainian counterparts, for example, say: we will discuss Crimea. But if we discuss Crimea in terms of developing cross-border cooperation – and Russia has cross-border cooperation between regions with foreign countries – if in this regard, then I am sure that Putin will be ready”, – Peskov said on the air of the Russia-1 TV channel.

Earlier it became known that preparations are currently underway for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. Peskov noted that “the process is not easy” and the outline of topics for discussion is “rather conceptual, not substantive”.
