The Kremlin positively assessed the information on the possible lifting of sanctions against Nord Stream 2 AG

At the same time, the press secretary of the Russian president noted that so far there is no official confirmation on this score

Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin shows positively the information that the United States may refuse to impose sanctions against the company – the operator of Nord Stream 2, Nord Stream 2 AG, but there are no official ones yet.

“We are still talking about impersonal publications, so this can hardly be perceived as a signal. Although the very fact of just such a publication is in itself quite positive.“ – TASS quotes the words of the press-Russian president, – “This speaks much better than reading the information that new sanctions are coming. It is too early on any official reports, for now, at least, we do not have any official confirmation on this matter.”

Earlier, the Axios news portal, citing two sources, reported that the US administration intends to waive sanctions against Nord Stream 2 AG and its executive director Matthias Warnig. It is reported that the administration of US President Joe Biden, “does not intend to spoil relations with Germany over the gas pipeline.”

But the State Department is in favor of restricting several Russian courts, the portal claims.
