The Russian Embassy in Washington plans that Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov will take part in the ceremony as a guest.
As reported by TASS with reference to the Russian embassy in Washington, the United States has sent Russia an invitation to the inauguration of US President-elect Joseph Biden, which will take place on January 20.
“We received an invitation. It is planned that the ambassador will take part”, – the diplomatic mission noted.
Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov at the end of November last year admitted that Ambassador Antonov may be present at the inauguration of the new head of the US administration. However, as such, the representation of other countries at this event is not provided, the Kremlin spokesman said.
