He also noted that Turkey, Azerbaijan and Russia will ensure peace in the region
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday that he had discussed with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in telephone conversations on Tuesday the possibility of expanding efforts to maintain the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh together with other countries in the region.
“Despite being 30 years late, the Azerbaijani flag has started to develop in Karabakh. Yesterday I discussed the [Nagorno-Karabakh ceasefire] with Mr. Putin. We, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Russia, will ensure peace in the region”, – Erdogan said during his speech in Parliament. – “But we also have a chance to improve this process. We have also discussed with Mr. Putin the work on expansion and development of the [ceasefire] regime with other countries in the region.”
According to Erdogan, “if we add a fourth or fifth regional country to the three countries, we can achieve a different situation”. However, the Turkish leader did not explain which countries were in question.
