The Heritage Foundation’s Strategic Research Institute in Washington has published an annual report assessing the capabilities of the US Army, its equipment and operational readiness
The report states that the total number of the army, as well as the fleet, marines and air force separately, is assessed as “insufficient”.
According to scientists, China is the strongest threat the US has faced. However, the published index identifies Russia as the biggest threat to the United States at present.
“If our enemies gain a military advantage over us, it will take us years to catch up with them, and by then it will be too late. When they gained an advantage over other countries, they willingly demonstrated their willingness to use it”, – says the research institute.
The report says, “The American Army is too poorly equipped to face more than one threat in geographically dispersed regions. In addition, the situation is complicated by the weakness of key military allies.”
