A fight between diplomats has strained relations between China and Taiwan

Taiwan and China accuse each other of having disrupted a joint event in Fiji.

According to the BBC, the situation happened at the beginning of the month. Then representatives of China and Taiwan took part in the island country’s bank holiday. In total, about a hundred guests were invited to the celebration.

“Chinese diplomats took photographs and collected information about the participants in the event. So a Taiwanese official asked them to leave. After that, he was attacked and his head hurt”, –  says the Taiwanese Foreign Ministry.

In China, it is said that his diplomats were on duty, while Taiwanese representatives set up a provocation.
