According to Elvira Borbayeva, President of the Association of Small Hydropower Stations of Kyrgyzstan, someone is intentionally trying to undermine preparations for the heating season.
A group of unknown persons gathered on Wednesday in the capital of Kyrgyzstan in front of the state coal mining company Kyrgyzkomur and are trying to take over its office. This was reported by 24.kg agency with reference to the President of the Association of Small Hydro Power Stations of Kyrgyzstan Elvira Borobaeva.
According to her, 10-15 people gathered at the building this morning. “We thought they would disperse, but now there are about 50 of them and the crowd is growing. “The Kyrgyzkomur is an important strategic target, and the security and stability of society and the state depend on it. The cold has begun, and the heat supply to the houses of Bishkek residents should begin soon. We need to keep them from blowing up the heating season,” Borbayeva was quoted by the agency as saying.
“I think that someone is deliberately trying to undermine the preparation for the heating season. They know that the vigilantes who were on duty in the city until morning are now resting, and so they are going to”, – Borbayeva said. However, she did not specify who, in her opinion, may be behind the attempt to seize the Kyrgyzkomur office.
Earlier in Bishkek, a group of unknown people attempted to take over the office of a major gold mining company, Kumtor. According to TASS, unknown people have arrived at the office and are attempting to forcefully enter the Kumtor premises. According to him, the security guards have so far been able to contain the onslaught. A signal has been sent to law enforcement agencies, but they are not yet responding, the interlocutor said. According to him, the company employees have also asked for help from the people’s squads, who promised to send their people to the site soon.
