The US government decided to limit the ability of PRC diplomats to meet with US local authorities and university staff. This was stated by US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo.
“The US State Department will now require high-ranking Chinese diplomats to obtain permission to visit US university campuses and meet with local officials,” Pompeo said in a statement released by the State Department’s press service.
