NATO exercises to be held in Czech Republic

About 700 servicemen from seven NATO member states – the Czech Republic, Slovakia, the USA, Germany, Hungary, Lithuania and Estonia – will take part in the exercise.


As the Correspondent reports with reference to the statement of the press service of the General Staff of the National Armed Forces of the Czech Republic, on Monday, August 31, NATO air exercises Ample Strike 2020 will begin in the republic.

“The exercises begin on August 31 and will last until September 19. They will become one of the largest in the Czech Republic this year”, – the message says.

The purpose of the exercise is to work out the interaction of ground-based spotters of targeting with the crews of combat aircraft and helicopters, as well as with the commanders of other units involved in the maneuvers.

The country’s airbases will host the B-52 strategic bomber and the MQ-9 Reaper drone of the US Air Force, Eurofighter, Tornado, Learjet and PC-9B planes of the German Air Force, Jas-39 Gripen supersonic fighters, L-159 Alca light attack aircraft, and Mi-171SH of the Czech Air Force.
