The US Congress did not support the idea of President Donald Trump to postpone the presidential election scheduled for November.
This was reported by Reuters.
“President Donald Trump on Thursday put forward the idea of postponing the U.S. elections on November 3, which was immediately rejected by both Democrats and his fellow Republicans in Congress – the only branch of government that has the authority to make such changes. Critics and even Trump’s allies rejected the idea as a minor and simple attempt to distract themselves from the devastating economic news”, – the report said.
Both Republicans and Democrats opposed the idea.
