Thousands of people take to the streets of Hong Kong despite the coronavirus pandemic, police use tear gas
In Hong Kong, thousands of anti-government protests resumed. The reason was the plans of Beijing to adopt a law on national security in Hong Kong.

The police used pepper gas to disperse the activists; several people were detained. Law enforcement officials explained their actions by a ban on mass gatherings of more than eight people because of the coronavirus pandemic.
