If the pro-Western opposition nevertheless destroys the parliamentary majority, then the socialists will try to create a new one that will put fugitive oligarchs behind bars.
Such a statement was made by the deputy from the Party of Socialists, Vlad Batryncha.
“The country is falling asleep – the mafia wakes up. Well, Plahotniuc counts on that”, -says the parliamentarian. – “Only the country does not sleep, the government is committed to returning the Chisinau airport, illegally handed over to concession. The prosecutor’s office is investigating the theft of a billion, bringing new charges against the mafia boss Plahotniuc and the escaped Ilan Shor. ”
Batryncha also emphasized that the investigation has approached other defendants in “theft of the century”, including former and current Moldovan officials.
“The mafia can be defeated, and we will do it. If they manage to destroy the parliamentary majority, then we will try to create a new one – against the mafia. There will be no place for Kandu and Shore. We will do this to end the bandits. Their place is in prison, where they will end up in the end”, – the deputy continues.
He also did not rule out the possibility that the socialists would not be able to form a new majority in the legislature. In this case, the party will appeal to the people, said Batryncha.
“People will choose who will represent them in parliament: those who are with the people and the country or the mafia?” – He stated.
Political situation in Moldova
The pro-Western opposition bloc ACUM — the union of the Action and Solidarity parties of Maya Sandu and Andrei Nastase’s Dignity and Truth — united in a coalition with the Socialist Party following last year’s parliamentary elections.
Then Maya Sandu, who recently spoke at opposition rallies, was given the opportunity to form a government. However, she was not the prime minister for long. Sandu tried to bypass the parliament to obtain the right to single-handedly nominate candidates for the post of Attorney General. This led to another political crisis, which ended with the resignation of the government. After that, the coalition broke up, and the ACUM bloc was again in opposition.
Now both Sandu and Nastase intend to participate in the presidential race. In addition, they began to collaborate with the Pro Moldova group. The new political formation was created by deputies who left the Democratic Party when it united with the socialists.
The leader of Pro Moldova was the speaker of the parliament of the times of Plahotniuc Andrian Candu. According to reports, Pro Moldova is funded by oligarchs who fled the country and involved in financial fraud. In particular, from 150 to 250 thousand euros were paid to every deserter democrat.
It is noteworthy that in the past Sandu and Nestas were ardent opponents of Vladimir Plahotniuc. Now they are interacting with deputies who are lobbying for the interests of a runaway corrupt official.
