Vermont State Senator Bernie Sanders, who emerged from the Democrats’ electoral race, expressed support for former Vice President Joseph Biden in the struggle for a U.S. presidential candidate. He outlined his position on Monday during a video conference with Biden, which was broadcast on the senator’s Twitter page.
“We need you in the White House. I will do everything I can to make this happen”, – said Saunders. – “I am asking today all Americans, all Democrats and independents, as well as many Republicans, to come together in this campaign and, like me, to support this candidacy”, – the senator stressed.

Earlier this year, the senator was considered a leader for several weeks in the fight for the nomination of a Democrat presidential candidate. Later, Biden became a favorite of the race.
Sanders announced April 8 that he would stop fighting for a Democrat presidential candidate. At that time, according to the New York Times, Biden was ready to support 1,217 delegates to the national congress, while Sanders – 914. The newspaper noted that the gap in the number of votes that Biden had, was “almost insurmountable” for Sanders.
The National Congress of the Democratic Party of the United States, where Biden is expected to be named a presidential candidate, is scheduled for mid-August in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Earlier it was scheduled for July 13-16. The event was postponed due to a new coronavirus pandemic. Presidential elections in the United States are due on November 3.
