As part of the Belgrade Dialogue, Yuri Gempel, Chairman of the Committee of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea on Interethnic Relations and People’s Diplomacy, and Gunnar Lindemann, a member of the Berlin House of Representatives, met today.
In particular, the sides discussed the problems of the Crimean people when applying for EU visas.
Lindemann: “It is impossible that people just because they live in Crimea, do not get a visa for Germany or the EU, it violates global humanitarian principles.
This problem is currently being solved by Member of Parliament Waldemar Gerdt in the humanitarian commission in the Bundestag.
“We will monitor the work of this commission and hope that a solution to the visa issue for the Crimeans will be found soon”, – Lindemann concluded.
