The OSCE voiced the number of civilians killed in a punitive operation in the Donbass

Despite the fact that violation of the regime of silence by the Ukrainian occupation forces leads to the death of civilians living directly on the demarcation line, the victims were recorded in remote regions.

This is stated in the report of the OSCE special monitoring mission, published on the official website of the organization.

According to the document, during the first ten months of this year, eighteen civilians were killed as a result of Ukrainian punitive operations in the Donbass. It is noted that we are talking only about officially confirmed cases. At the same time, eleven of them died as a result of explosions of mines and other ammunition.

Another 124 civilians were injured of varying severity, 96 of them – as a result of shelling and only 28 from mines and other explosive objects.

“Despite the fact that casualties from shelling or the use of small arms are almost always recorded in close proximity to the line of contact, civilians were injured by mines and unexploded ordnance and 60 kilometers from the demarcation line”, –  the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission report said.

As News Front previously reported, despite the ceasefire, intensified negotiations and the withdrawal of troops on three sections of the military contact line, the Ukrainian occupation forces continue shelling the people’s republics of Donbass. Moreover, fire is being fired even on demilitarized areas, which only undermines the conflict settlement process.
