US creates quasi-state around Syrian oil fields

The US administration continues to methodically work on the split of Syria, inviting its regional allies to sponsor a quasi-state east of the Euphrates.

Such a statement on Tuesday, November 12, was made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, speaking at the Paris Peace Forum.

He noted that Washington “is asking the [Persian] Gulf state to sponsor the creation of local administrations based on the Syrian Democratic Forces, Kurdish people’s self-defense units with the undisguised intention of dividing this part of Syria and taking control of oil fields”.

As News Front previously reported, in early October, Turkey launched an offensive in northern Syria to defeat Kurdish armed groups operating in the region under US auspices. Washington opposed the actions of Ankara, but did not support the Kurds. The American armed contingent left the territory, leaving loyal militants to their fate.

However, when the situation stabilized, the United States decided to occupy Syrian oil fields under the guise of their “protection”. In this regard, Washington was again able to bribe Kurdish militants, whom they had previously left to the tear of the Turkish army.
