The President of Bolivia stated about the coup attempt in the country

Bolivian President Evo Morales called the mass protests in the country an attempted coup, which was undertaken by right-wing forces dissatisfied with his re-election.

“I called this press conference to announce to the people of Bolivia and to the whole world that a coup is taking place in the country. It was prepared by the right-wing forces with international support”, –  Morales said.

Currently, according to the results of the calculation of 95.63% of the vote, the incumbent president Evo Morales leads with 46.85% in the election of the head of Bolivia, followed by his main rival, ex-president Carlos Mesa, with 36.74% of the vote. This difference is enough to win the first round.
