Chile: Chaos hits Santiago as teachers protest turns violent

Several people were seen detained as protest for better conditions for teachers turned violent, with demonstrators clashing with police guards in Havana on Thursday. Police used water cannons and tear gas to disperse protesters as around 45,000 people gathered in the streets demanding from the government to solve education system’s issues. Protesters also call for municipalities to pay the debts owed to them and protest against making history, physical education and arts classes optional.
