The humanitarian situation in the Idlib de-escalation zone remains alarming, where the situation was aggravated by the sudden activity of terrorist groups, in particular, “Jabhat Al-Nusra”. Residents of the territories are forced to flee, because they will act as a live shield of militants in confrontation with government troops.
Realizing the complexity of the situation, the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties expanded its activities at the Tel-Sultan-Abu-Ed-Duhur crossing. This site is the only link to the outside world for the residents of Idlib province, who were taken hostage by terrorists.
Despite all the obstacles organized by the Syrian terrorists, who do not release residents from the last hotbed of tension in Syria, about 786 people left the danger zone thanks to the Center’s experts. Among the refugees there are about 389 children and 304 women.
In addition to support, the specialists of the Center provided medical assistance to all those in need, and this, at least, 247 people. Russian military inspect the columns of refugees to prevent attempts to carry explosives or weapons.
