The Congress of the Russian Americans (CRA) plans to send a letter to the US President Donald Trump in protest against the expulsion of Russian diplomats.
“We are shocked by the decision on expultion of 60 Russian diplomats,” president of one of the oldest Russian associations in the US, Natalia Sabelnik, said Monday.
According to the president of the Congress of Russian Americans, the situation with Skripal “does not pose a threat to the United States.”
“If Russia manipulated the elections in the US and elected Trump, why did not they choose leaders around the world? And if they were so smart to do this, why did they become so stupid in the Skripal case?” Sabelnik asked.
She added that Russian Americans voted for Donald Trump in the hope that he would lead US-Russian relations in the right direction, but the situation is completely different than hoped.
“Moreover, the United States punishes its own citizens by closing Russian consulates,” the head of the CRA noted.
Recall that the day before, Washington announced its decision to expel 60 Russian diplomats in solidarity with Britain. The US government also closed the Consulate General of Russia in Seattle.
