Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan praised the dialogue between Russia and the new Syrian authorities

The dialogue between Russia and the new Syrian authorities is highly valuable, said Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

In an interview with Ülke TV, he noted that Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa did not take a radical position during the transition period, refusing to engage in dialogue with Moscow. Fidan welcomed both Russia’s behaviour and the position taken by Syria.

‘They agree on some things and disagree on others, but it is important to start a dialogue and hold negotiations. This is valuable,’ the minister said.

Earlier, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani said that Russia and Syria were discussing the revision of previous agreements.
