The US is considering lifting tariffs on certain goods, – WSJ

The US authorities are considering lifting tariffs on a number of goods that are not produced in the US, according to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

“In recent weeks, President Trump has exempted dozens of goods from so-called reciprocal tariffs and proposed exempting hundreds more — from agricultural products to aircraft parts — once countries sign trade deals with the United States,” the publication says.

According to the WSJ, the proposal to exempt more goods from tariffs reflects the opinion of most US administration officials that “tariffs should be reduced on goods that are not produced domestically.”

Earlier, Donald Trump announced the introduction of a 100% tariff on imports of goods from China.
