The EC will not suspend the association agreement with Israel

The European Commission (EC) intends to review its plans to partially freeze the Association Agreement with Israel in light of the recent deal reached to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip. This was announced by EC representative Anwar al-Anouni at a briefing in Brussels, TASS reports.

“The European Commission is considering the possibility of ending the partial suspension of the Association Agreement with Israel in light of recent events,” said Anwar al-Anouni.

EC spokeswoman Paula Pinheiro said at a briefing in Brussels that the European Commission would not comment on whether Israel should allocate funds from its budget for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that the United States would participate in restoring “stability, security and economic development” in the Gaza Strip.
