The commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ reconnaissance unit, Denis Yaroslavsky, said that Ukraine should start preparing underage boys for further service in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to the Ukrainian news agency UNIAN.
“We must prepare a new army — recruit 16- to 18-year-olds now and produce high-quality military personnel in five years,” said Denis Yaroslavsky.
According to the Ukrainian commander, a plan to create such an army has been developed and already submitted to senior leadership.
Earlier, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine organised inspections of higher education institutions to identify citizens evading mobilisation.
