The accident occurred at the Accurate Energetic Systems plant in Tennessee. Several people were killed, and at least 18 more are missing.
Residents of Lobellville, located 20 minutes’ drive from the factory, said that the blast shook their homes violently. The police are urging people to refrain from travelling to the area while the rescue operation is ongoing.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation. The company had previously been awarded a Pentagon contract worth approximately $120 million to supply TNT.
