Von der Leyen: Drone incidents in the EU are part of a hybrid war

The appearance of drones in EU airspace is part of a hybrid war. This statement was made by the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, speaking in the European Parliament.

“Something new and dangerous is happening in our sky… Make no mistake. This is part of an alarming trend of rising threats,” Politico quoted her as saying.

Earlier, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that the UAVs in the skies over Germany were reconnaissance, not combat.

Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov advised those who connect drone flights in the EU with Russia to broaden their horizons.

At the same time, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev expressed the opinion that UAVs in Europe could be a provocation of Ukraine.
