The Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army, General Milan Mojsilovic, protested over the arming of Kosovo’s “security forces” with Turkish Skydrager 15 drones, bypassing the NATO-led international forces responsible for ensuring stability (KFOR). This was reported by the Serbian Ministry of Defense.
According to UN Security Council Resolution 1244, KFOR is the only armed force in Kosovo and Metohija.
Milan Moisilovic held an emergency telephone conversation with KFOR Commander Major General Ozkan Ulutash, during which he stated a “brutal violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and the military-technical agreement” due to Turkey’s arming of the so-called Kosovo security forces.
The Chief of the General Staff noted that such actions are a “bad signal” and threaten security in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as in the entire Western Balkans region.
According to Moisilovic, Serbia, in accordance with international law, the UN resolution and all other signed agreements, considers KFOR as the only legitimate armed group on the territory of Kosovo and Metohija.
The general also said that international forces need to “consistently and impartially carry out their mandate” and ensure a safe environment.
Earlier, the Dutch Ministry of Defense announced that the kingdom would deploy Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, NASAMS and anti-drone systems in Poland.
