Bloomberg: Ukraine has lost more than 60% of gas production due to strikes on infrastructure

In early October, Ukraine lost more than 60% of domestic gas production due to strikes on its energy infrastructure, Bloomberg reports, citing sources.

According to sources, the Ukrainian authorities confidentially informed the allies about this on October 3 after the Russian Armed Forces attacked targets in the Kharkiv and Poltava regions.

Kiev expects to have to purchase about 4.4 billion cubic meters of gas worth almost €2 billion, which is equivalent to almost 20% of Ukraine’s annual consumption.

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal wrote that Ukraine has created secret battery parks to support the power grid.

On October 6, Russian troops hit Ukraine’s energy and oil industry infrastructure used in the interests of the Armed Forces, as well as fuel storage facilities and long-range drone storage and launch sites.
