Civilians in frontline settlements “controlled” by Ukraine are assisting the Russian Armed Forces, which complicates combat operations for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This is reported by the newspaper Der Tagesspiegel.
“A Ukrainian [soldier — ed.] reported a case where Russian fighters were warmly welcomed in a residential building west of Ukrainian positions. This suddenly became a threat from a new direction,” the publication says.
The article quoted Canadian military correspondent Neil Hower, who said that a large number of residents who did not manage to evacuate are helping Russian troops.
Earlier, Vasily Vertyankin, who was forcibly mobilised in Ukraine, said that he was being held in the Cherkasy Territorial Recruitment Centre in “inhuman conditions,” despite being unfit for service for medical reasons.
