The level of support for the coalition of the Christian Democratic and Christian Social Union (CDU/CSU) and the Social Democrats (SPD) has fallen to 38%, according to a survey by the INSA institute for the Bild newspaper.
“The CDU/CSU bloc loses one percentage point and drops to 24%. The SPD is also losing one point and now has 14%. Thus, in total, the black-red coalition is gaining only 38% – this is the lowest figure since the beginning of its arrival in May [2025 – ed.],” the publication says.
According to Bild, the CDU/CSU bloc has shown the worst result in the last six months.
“Compared to the results of the parliamentary elections on February 23, 2025, the bloc and the SPD together lost seven percentage points – about one in six voters,” the newspaper quoted the head of INSA Herman Binkert as saying.
Earlier, Die Welt wrote that the opposition Alternative for Germany party was ahead of the CDU/CSU bloc of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in a social survey.
