German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, during a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, informed the head of the American administration about plans to use Russia’s frozen assets to support Ukraine.
This was stated by the official representative of the German government, Stefan Cornelius. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
“The Federal Chancellor announced an initiative to use frozen Russian assets to support the Ukrainian armed forces,” Cornelius said.
Earlier, Euroclear appealed to the European Commission to comply with international law regarding Russian assets.
