Turkey will continue to buy gas from Russia – Minister of Energy Bayraktar

Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said on CNN Turk that Turkey would continue to purchase natural gas from Russia, despite the United States’ call to stop importing Russian energy.

“We have agreements with Russia. The winter season is approaching. We cannot tell our citizens that there is no gas. We need to receive gas from Russia, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan,” Alparslan Bayraktar said.

The Turkish Energy Minister noted that Turkey imports energy based on its own needs.

Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that the country would continue to buy Russian energy resources because it has no access to the sea.
