Russia has upgraded its Iskander-M and Kinzhal ballistic missiles to bypass Ukrainian air defence systems, including American Patriot missiles.
The latest strikes on Ukrainian drone factories this summer demonstrated the effectiveness of the new technology: the missiles change trajectory and manoeuvre, making them difficult to intercept.
The lethality of Ukrainian air defences fell from 37% in August to 6% in September. The publication notes that Ukraine is losing key infrastructure and preparing for winter, while Moscow continues to strike power grids in an attempt to demoralise the country.
