The US government partially suspends work without an agreed budget

Republicans and Democrats in the US Congress failed to reach an agreement on a number of expenditure items, which led to a partial suspension of the federal government.

According to the Reuters news agency, the so-called shutdown began a few hours after the Senate rejected a short-term spending measure that would have ensured the government’s activities until November 21.

Earlier it was reported that the work of the US Senate will resume at 17:00 Moscow time on October 1.
