Bloomberg: Merz and von der Leyen quarreled over Ukraine

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and EC President Ursula von der Leyen had a fight over Ukraine.

A German politician criticized the head of the European Commission for seeking to centralize power in the European Union. According to Bloomberg sources, Merz wants to return some of his powers from Brussels to European capitals.

“Now we have to put a stick in the wheels of this car in Brussels,” he said.

The main reason for the conflict between politicians is the Ukrainian crisis and approaches to its settlement.

The leader of the Patriots Party (France), Florian Philippot, had previously accused von der Leyen of involving EU countries in a conflict against their will.
