The US president’s special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, may leave office before the end of 2025, The Times of Israel newspaper reported, citing a source in US political circles.
A potential reason for Steve Witkoff’s resignation could be a “breakthrough in the Gaza war,” the publication noted.
According to the newspaper, US President Donald Trump announced progress in resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for an agreement on the cessation of hostilities in Gaza, and now the American side is awaiting a response from Hamas, Trump said.
Earlier, 12 countries announced the creation of a coalition to support Palestine.
