In order to conclude a trade deal with the United States, Chinese President Xi Jinping demanded that US President Donald Trump abandon support for Taiwan’s independence.
This is reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing sources.
“The Chinese leader plans to put pressure on his American counterpart to officially declare that the United States opposes Taiwan’s independence,” the source said.
Earlier, The Washington Post wrote that Trump did not approve the supply of military aid to Taiwan worth about $ 400 million.
