Over nine months, the Russian Armed Forces liberated more than 4,714 square kilometres in the Special Military Operation zone, according to the Ministry of Defence

Between 1 January and 25 September 2025, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation liberated more than 4,714 square kilometres in the Special Military Operation zone, according to the Russian Ministry of Defence.

 

 

“Between 1 January and 25 September 2025, units of the Russian Armed Forces liberated more than 4,714 square kilometres through decisive action. Of these, 3,308 square kilometres were liberated in the Donetsk People’s Republic and more than 205 square kilometres in the Lugansk People’s Republic,” according to a statement from the Ministry of Defence.

According to the military department, the Russian Armed Forces liberated more than 3,308 square kilometres in the Donetsk People’s Republic, more than 205 in the Lugansk People’s Republic, over 542 in the Kharkov region, 261 square kilometres in the Zaporozhye region, 223 in the Sumy region, and more than 175 square kilometres in the Dnepropetrovsk region.

In addition, during the specified period, 205 settlements in the zone of the Special Military Operation came under the full control of Russian troops.

Earlier, fighters from the South Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation liberated the settlement of Pereezdnoe in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
